Local socio-economic development-Dissemination of heritage
Alta Ruta Guadarrama is a mountain circuit created with the aim of enhancing the natural and cultural resources of the Sierra de Guadarrama with sustainable and responsible tourism and destination criteria, through the promotion of the National Park as a tourist destination for the practice of mountaineering.
To achieve this we have created a Network of collaborators: accommodation, shops, local producers, brands and mountain companies. They all offer a special service for the participants of Alta Ruta Guadarrama, with discounts and exclusive advantages.
SHEEP'S WAYS
Conservation of nature and rural ways of life
Project for the dissemination of pastoral culture in collaboration withMiddlebury College, Vermont, (USA) and address ofcatharine wright. Combining knowledge of both sides of the Atlantic and its impact on the territory, the objective is to create an international summer course as an immersive experience with transhumant shepherds and direct practical application: artistic creation as a means of disseminating values of environmental conservation and social enrichment. .
The project is associated with the CISE of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park to establish a flock of sheep in the Lozoya Valley, promote biodiversity and recover pastures as carbon sinks.
SYMBIOTIC BEEKEEPING
Conservation of nature and rural ways of life
We study the equilibrium conditions between bee survival and shelf beekeeping viability in mountain areas in collaboration with the Center for Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (CISE) of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park , to regulate the activity in a sustainable way.
This project is fully funded by Montnature, through our MELLIFERA project
INSECT
Conservation of nature and rural ways of life
We allocate part of the profits obtained from the sale of MELLIFERA bee products to the installation of insect hotels. A winter refuge, a breeding place or a protection space for beneficial insects that perform vital functions for ecosystems: pollination, pest control, decomposition, etc. We have installed one of them in Rascafría (Filandia Forest) in collaboration with the Batanes lodge and the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.
